Q: How long does the Windshield Protection last? A : Generally, there are really only two ways that the lifetime of any windshield protection film gets reduced:
- A Loss of Structural Integrity- Climates that are hot and humid or have high UV exposure are known to wreak havoc on all automotive films (windshield protection film, window tint, paint protection film, you name it) because the UV radiation will start to break down the bonds between layers in the film and cause it to degrade.
- General Wear-and-Tear - Even if your film does not lose its structural integrity, the lifetime of your windshield protection film is finite - all good things come to an end eventually. This usually happens when the surface of the film gets worn out after everyday use of the wiper blades, sandblasting, and small impacts from rocks and road debris. The protective topcoat on the surface of the film will eventually wear out.

Q: How Do I increase the life of the Windshield Protection Last? A :
- Simply keeping your windshield clean of dirt, bird droppings, sap, or other chemicals can help you maximize the life of your Dynoflex Windshield film. Do not pressure wash your windshield. We recommend manually washing your windshield with soap and water, or going through a touchless car wash.
- Wiper care -If you notice your windshield is dirty, clean wipers with a damp cloth to remove dirt or debris from the wipers. Never run your wipers dry. Should silicone blades be available this option is recommended and will prolong the life of the film.
- Some cleaning products, coatings, or surface treatments may not be compatible with ExoShield. Stick to an ammonia-free glass cleaner and approved coatings.Do not use cleaning products with corrosives or solvents. STEK has approved products which may extend the life of your windshield protection film.
- In winter, avoid using a metal or rough plastic ice scraper as this may cause unwanted scratching. If you notice your scraper has worn out, you can buff the edge with sandpaper to ensure it will not damage your DynoFlex.
- At the end of its life, you may start to notice scratching of the surface of Dynoflex which can reduce visibility. When this occurs you must remove it immediately.
- Application of ceramic based spray products to helps maintain the hydrophobic properties...thus lets you use the wipers less.
